9 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Philippians 2:9-11
For this reason also,
That symbol that meant slavery, God has changed to mean freedom. That meant torture, God changed to comforted. That meant death, God has changed to mean eternal life. That exhibition of death God changed to draw men to Jesus.
God highly exalted Him
This Greek word hyperypsosen means to elevate above and beyond others,
This glory is an affirmation of what Jesus has done
at the name of Jesus every knee will bow
In more ancient days it meant one thing: Humility
Bowing the knee means willing service. Acts 9:5-6: “Who are you, LORD?” and, “What do you
want me to do?“
Bowing the knee means obedience. Jesus said in Luke 6:46: “Why call me Lord, Lord and do not the things that I say?“
of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth
Every knee will bow. Those who have responded to the gospel gladly, with great joy. Those who
have hardened their hearts will bow the knee with great fear and trembling.
Even in the Old Testament, this phrase “every knee will bow, every tongue confess” is
connected with salvation—fulfilled in the Person and Work of Jesus.

Our confession as believers is that Jesus is Lord.
Our belief is in the resurrection
Jesus Christ is Lord
Our confession that Jesus Christ is Lord is by the Holy Spirit.

So what is the result of all of this? God the Father is glorified.
