Created For More Truth

2 Peter 2:1-3 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them–bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping. (NIV)

The Problem is Ongoing as Peter Perceived It:
False prophets and teachers will be among the believers.

What will they Do And What Effect Will They Have?
Their teaching is a denial of Christ who paid the ultimate price, and they will exhibit shameful immoralities.

How Will They Accomplish This Deception?
Through cleverly forged arguments disguised as truth. They will encourage reckless immorality and a lack of regard towards man’s, or God’s judgment.

1 Corinthians 2:1-2, 4 When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, (NIV)

What Will Be The Results Of Their Deception?
A smearing of Christianity, and their swift destruction.

Important Q: “Do the teachers or prophets exalt themselves and do they repel men away from, or towards Christ?

What is Truth; the Troubling Q of All Humankind?

John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I AM the WAY and the TRUTH and the LIFE. NO ONE comes to the Father EXCEPT through ME! (NIV)
