Tribal Values

Genesis 11;5-6 The Lord came down to see the city and the tower that the men were building. The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing will be impossible for them. Come, let us go down and confuse their language so that they will not understand each other.”

“Just because everyone is doing it, it doesn’t make it right!” – Exasperated Parent

“What I do is a direct result of what I AM, and what I AM is determined by my values. My values determine my character and my character determines my behavior.” – Roy Comstock

TRIBAL VALUES

I AM God’s BELOVED.

1 John 4:7-11 Beloved, let us love one another; for love is of God; and everyone that loves is born of God, and knows God. 8He that loves not knows not God; for God is love. 9This is how God showed His love among us; He sent His One and only Son into the world that we might live through Him. 10This is love; not that we loved God, but that He loved us: He sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

I AM God’s CAPTIVE.

Ephesians 4:1-6 As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. 2Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 3Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 4There is one body and one Spirit – just as you were called – 5one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
