A Clear & Present Faith

Genesis 28:10-22

Faith = the moral and spiritual quality of people who know and demonstrate a confidence in and a devotion to the revealed truth about God.

Hebrews 11:1 Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

Jacob started with a generational, not a personal faith in God. Genesis 28:1-4

Jacob received a clear, present, and personal faith at Bethel. Genesis 28:10-15

As God’s Word allows revelation of God and it is accepted as truth, then wisdom is proven by a life of obedient service. Genesis 28: 16-22 / James 2:14-26

Faith means to believe in God, repent of sins, and become empowered by God’s Spirit. So, faith involves the mercy, grace and love of the Trinity, and ALL of my devotion.

John 6:29 “The work of God is this: to believe in the one He has sent.” – Jesus

Mark 1:15 “The time has come; the Kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!” – Jesus

John 16:13-14 “When He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is to come. He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you.” – Jesus
