The Invitation

Matthew 4:18-20 One day Jesus was walking along the shore of the sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers – Simon, also called Peter, and Andrew – were throwing a net into the water, for they fished for a living. Jesus called out to them,”come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” And they left their nets at once and followed him.

A request for someone’s presence or participation.

Following Jesus and fishing for people is both complex and simple: _______________ because of the myriad of resistors, __________________ because of everyone’s need for love and acceptance.

You are:

Dearly loved, highly favored, wonderfully blessed, and Jesus is inviting you to follow Him on a life journey!

Acts 4:27-31 [modified] The people of our Town conspire against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed. They do what your power and will had decided beforehand should happen. [Personal prayer] NOW, Lord, consider their threats and ENABLE your servants to SPEAK your WORD with great boldness. Stretch out Your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of Your holy servant Jesus.

AFTER they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were ALL FILLED with the HOLY SPIRIT and SPOKE the WORD of God boldly.

Matthew 28:19-20Go and make disciples of ALL Nations [people], baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach them to obey ALL the commands I have given you. And be sure of this; I Am with you always even to the end of the age.” Jesus commands His followers.
