The Freedom of Forgiveness

The Freedom of Forgiveness

Matthew 6:12 And forgive us our debts as we also have forgiven our debtors.

Jesus wants _________________ to experience God’s forgiveness.

Colossians 1:14 “God has purchased our freedom with His blood and has forgiven ALL our sins.”

Nehemiah 9:17 You are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love.

Forgiveness is not simply trying to forget. It is not just letting time pass after an offense happens. It is not disregarding the wrong the other person has done against you or pretending the offense didn’t matter. True forgiveness is ___________________ to accept the blood of Jesus as the full payment for what your offender did. (S.A.L.T.)

Ephesians 4:32 Be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

FOUR STEPS OF FORGIVING (S.A.L.T.)
Step 1 = _______________________________
Step 2 = _______________________________
Step 3 = _______________________________
Step 4 = _______________________________

Matthew 18:21-22 “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus replied, “I do not say to you up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.”

_____________________ forgiveness when you have wronged others.

Romans 12:18 “Do your part to live in peace with everyone, as much as possible.”
