TALKING WITH GOD
Acts 2:42 And they devoted themselves to prayer.
Isaiah 56:7 and Matthew 21:13 “My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.”
Prayer is connection to DEPENDENCE on God.
1 Peter 5:6-7 Humble yourselves under God’s mighty hand that He may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.
Prayer is connection to God’s POWER.
1 Kings 18:36-37 At the time of sacrifice, the prophet Elijah stepped forward and prayed: “O Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command. Answer me, O Lord, so these people will know that you, O Lord, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again.”
Prayer is connection to OTHER’S NEEDS.
James 5:13-16 Is anyone of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is anyone of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.
