Acts 8
The day of Stephen’s stoning a great persecution broke out against the church at Jerusalem, which then scattered followers of Christ, not apostles, to Judah and Samaria.
Philip goes to Samaria and spoke of the Messiah, casts out demons and heals many paralytics and cripples.
Simon a sorcerer of Samaria for many years, held a great power over many people because he amazed them. But then he heard the message, believed and was baptized.
Peter and John came to Samaria to see the new believers and realized they had not yet received the Holy Spirit, a gift that Simon the sorcerer tried to purchase.
Philip, instructed by an angel of the Lord, goes to Gaza and on the way ministers to an Ethiopian eunuch who has just left Jerusalem and is studying Isaiah 53.
Philip, after baptizing the Ethiopian eunuch, is suddenly transported by the Spirit of the Lord and shows up in the town of Azotus preaching the gospel as he makes his way along the coast towards Caesarea where God settles him.
