We are excited to present a new Discipleship curriculum here at Mountain Valley. God’s Clarion Call is the gateway to the SALT (Seven Areas of Life Training) program that will begin in January 2014. God’s Clarion Call will begin on Wednesday, September 11 at 7:00PM here at the church. It is a 10-week series that will teach renewable, self-initiating discipleship.
THE PURPOSE: FOUR OBJECTIVES
The objectives of this course are to –
1. Build a Scriptural foundation for Biblical discipleship
» It is important to build a firm foundation from the Word of God about discipleship so we can share the significance of what God commands us to do.
2. Teach the basic principles and skills of discipleship
» Throughout this course we will teach you basic Biblical principles and give you tools that will help you disciple others more effectively.
3. Encourage participants to continue to grow as God’s disciples
» God tells us He is faithful to complete the good work He started in us. This work can be accomplished as we seek to be discipled by God and others. Discipleship is a lifelong process!
4. Equip believers to become self-initiating and reproducing disciplers
» This course will teach you Scriptural foundations for Biblical discipleship and basic principles for discipling others, encourage you to grow as a disciple, and equip you to become a self-initiating, reproducing discipler. We are the Church, and if the Church isn’t reproducing, it will become ineffective!

The entire program is built around a cycle of discipleship: hearing, applying and sharing. This cycle not only strengthens our relationship with God but enables us to share God with others creating more renewable, self-initiating disciplers.

God’s Clarion Call:
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
Matthew 28:19-20
