He leads me beside quiet waters.&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>God as our shepherd provides for our spiritual <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">nourishment <\/span>and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">refreshment<\/span>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s only when we heed Jesus\u2019 instruction to lie down, and we let Him <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">lead <\/span>us by the quiet waters, when we <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">obey<\/span>, that we receive these times of refreshing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong><sup>2&nbsp;<\/sup>He makes me lie down in green pastures;<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Sheep usually <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">stand<\/span>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sheep stand because they are afraid; sheep rest when they are <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">free <\/span>from <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">fear<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Because of all those potential predators like wolves, coyotes, dogs, bears, and lions and the like, sheep are easily frightened.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Fear <\/span>and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">anxiety <\/span>can be both harmful to us personally, and cause us to make decisions that are not in our best interest or in the interest of our <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">calling <\/span>as disciples of Christ.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But if we ourselves are <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">afraid<\/span>, we will not find the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">rest <\/span>in God that will let us trust Him to lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sheep stand to eat because they\u2019re hungry; Sheep rest when they are <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Well-fed<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Just as sheep are well-fed on grass, we as believers are <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">fed <\/span>on the Word of God.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When we <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">dwell <\/span>in the Word of God, we receive the comfort that we need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When we <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">eat <\/span>it\u2014apply it to our lives, then it provides nourishment for us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sheep stand because they feel <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">friction <\/span>within the flock<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The most dominant sheep will <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">butt <\/span>those who they think are less worthy than themselves .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To sow discord, or to cause problems among God\u2019s people, is the exact <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">opposite <\/span>of what God expects as from us as one of His <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">children <\/span>(Proverbs 6:19).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We also can\u2019t use the Bible as a club to beat people over the head with.&nbsp; When we correct or admonish, we must do it in <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">love<\/span>, just like God does with us.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sheep stand because they are <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">tormented <\/span>by flies and parasites<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Sheep have kind of an issue when it comes to flies and parasites because they don\u2019t have hands to be able to get rid of them.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These can sometimes be <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">circumstances <\/span>that just seem unfair or seem to be trouble tailor-made to get on our nerves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These can sometimes be <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">people <\/span>who just seem to rub us the wrong way, or who\u2019s habits and mannerisms just seem to bother us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Give them to the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Lord<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sheep stand because they search for greener grass<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Some sheep are just restless and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">discontented<\/span>.&nbsp; Even when they have good pasture, good water a good shepherd, they\u2019re always looking out <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">longingly <\/span>at the other side of the fence<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>1 John 2:15<strong> Do not love the world nor the things in the world.
