{"id":2502,"date":"2019-12-08T10:00:38","date_gmt":"2019-12-08T17:00:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mvcog.org\/wp\/?p=2502"},"modified":"2019-12-10T00:23:33","modified_gmt":"2019-12-10T07:23:33","slug":"plan-of-the-father-2-isaiah-96-fingerprint-of-the-messiah","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/mvcog.org\/wp\/2019\/12\/08\/plan-of-the-father-2-isaiah-96-fingerprint-of-the-messiah\/","title":{"rendered":"Plan of the Father 2: Isaiah 9:6; Fingerprint of the Messiah"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"http:\/\/mvcog.org\/sermons\/sermon-20191208.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Isaiah 9:6a For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Christmas Plans<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>God had <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">planned <\/span>for that first Christmas, no detail came as a surprise to Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>God gave us these details to make sure that everyone would <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">understand <\/span>that this was His plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prophecy<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Prediction of the specifics of events happening years from now is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">impossible<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>God doesn\u2019t <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">predict <\/span>the future\u2014He already <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">knows <\/span>the future<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prophecy is simply telling the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">truth <\/span>exactly as God has revealed it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>when it is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">fulfilled <\/span>exactly as God said, we understand that God is all-knowing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fingerprints<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>God told the Old Testament prophets many <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">specifics <\/span>about the birth, life and death of Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">To a specific family<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, before Jesus was born, many rabbis were teaching that the messiah was just going to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">appear<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They didn\u2019t understand that Jesus was God from eternity past and therefore had no beginning, but was going to come to earth as a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">baby<\/span>,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jesus was being offered as a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">gift <\/span>from God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example the Messiah had to be descended from <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Abraham<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Messiah had to be a descendant of King <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">David<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jesus\u2019, and only Jesus\u2019 lineage was <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">preserved <\/span>and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">documented <\/span>completely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jesus could not have been in the Royal <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Blood line<\/span>,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>God had <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">cursed <\/span>the royal line because Jechoniah was so wicked<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jesus was descended from David by blood through <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Mary<\/span>, his mother<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In a specific place<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>And of course, the Messiah had to be born in a specific place; in <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Bethlehem <\/span>near Jerusalem:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bethlehem means house of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">bread<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bethlehem is where the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Passover <\/span>lambs were born.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bethlehem was full of livestock, and was a smelly place. The <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">manger <\/span>was a feeding trough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In a specific way<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Isaiah 7:14: Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and  will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>This prophecy eliminates <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">everyone else<\/span> who has ever lived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why God sent Jesus<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Jesus <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">illuminates <\/span>God for us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>God <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">loves <\/span>us and gave His <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">son <\/span>to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">save <\/span>us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That God sent His son to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">redeem <\/span>the world John 3:16-17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
