    Welcome to Discipleship University

Some people call it “Sunday School,” but we think DU goes beyond that. Our goal is to train our church to be disciples. And we’d like to share that training with you. So, whether you’re here to make up a missed session, or just want to learn more about God, we say welcome!

    About Discipleship University

At Mountain Valley we had a vision. That vision revealed to us that... we didn't have a vision. The challenge was this: How do we get people to disciple others? The obvious answer was to disciple them first! From that answer came the vision for Discipleship University. We could have called it Sunday School, but our vision was (and is) specifically for making disciples.

The initial offering will be divided into four sections: 101, 201, 301 and 401. 101 starts with the basics. We see it as a necessity to have a baseline so we're starting with what most people already know, but everyone should know. From there things will get deeper. Each page has an audio recording of the session you can listen to while you follow the lesson. You can also download the audio and lessons (in PDF format) for use offline.

We hope you are blessed by Discipleship University. Please share it with your friends.

    Mountain Valley Church of God

Mountain Valley Church was originally dedicated in May 1999 and occupied a 2100 sq. ft. building now called Noble Hall after the founding Pastor Jim Noble. Four years ago God blessed us with dedicated enough people to erect and voluntarily finish off the inside of a 6,000 sq. ft. steel building that we use for our worship center at 8123 E Manley Dr. in Prescott Valley, AZ.

We are a Church of God associated with National offices in Anderson, Indiana. Suzanne and I feel blessed by God that we have been pastoring this church for ten years. We have a desire to fulfill the Great Commission of Christ by discipling believers into relationship with God by the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ and understanding the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit as our counselor to live a holy life as desired by God. We adhere to the idea that believers are the Temple of the Living God and that we have One God and Father who is over all and through all and in all. We invite you to “Come and RIDE,” that is: Really love God, Intentionally relate, Develop God given talents and Encourage others to “Come and Ride!”

    Blessings, Pastor Don Tjiema

We Must Give Time to God

(from "The Root of the Righteous") Probably the most widespread and persistent problem to be found among Christians is the problem of retarded spiritual progress. Why, after years of Christian profession, do so many persons find themselves no farther along than when they first believed? Some would try to resolve the difficulty by asserting flatly that such persons were never saved, that ...
